Tom Kimber-Smith scorched round under the Portuguese sunshine to take pole position in the Greaves Motorsport Zytek Z11SN – Nissan at the Estoril circuit, near Lisbon. British racing driver, Tom Kimber-Smith, clinched the 2011 Le Mans Series LMP2 Championship title in fine style at Estoril. Tom guided his Greaves Motorsport Zytek-Nissan to pole position and 2nd place in the race, but the single championship point awarded for pole was enough for him to put the crown out of reach for his main title-rivals. Tom’s superb effort in qualifying to claim the fastest LMP2 time and fourth fastest overall was all the more impressive given that he was driving with a painful hand injury.
Greaves Motorsport scored win number three in the 2011 Le Mans Series with a convincing result at Silverstone.
Karim Ojjeh, Tom Kimber-Smith and Olivier Lombard drove the Team’s Zytek Z11SN – Nissan to success with a one lap margin over their rivals.
British driver Tom Kimber-Smith enjoyed another hugely successful Le Mans Series (LMS) race event last weekend, when he claimed LMP2 victory at his home race, the Autosport 6-Hours of Silverstone. This completes a remarkable hat-trick of wins for the 26-year-old, having been unbeatable in both the last round of the LMS at Imola and the Le Mans 24-Hours race in June, aboard his Greaves Motorsport Zytek-Nissan LMP2 entry. This brings his total 2011 LMP2 victory tally to four, having also won the opening round of the LMS at Paul Ricard.
